The annual Sip & Shop Greenwich returns to Old Greenwich on Thursday, Nov. 5, with extended hours and more than 40 vendors selling jewelry, baked goods and more. Admission is free.

The event runs from noon to 9 p.m. at Innis Arden Golf Club, 120 Tomac Ave. Parking is also free. The dress code asks attendees to skip the denim. A cash bar will serve cocktails.

Net proceeds benefit Swim Across America – Fairfield County, which funds cancer cell and gene therapy research through its local beneficiary, the Alliance for Cancer Gene Therapy (ACGT). ACGT is headquartered in Stamford and describes itself as the nation's only nonprofit dedicated exclusively to funding cancer cell and gene therapy research, according to the group's Eventbrite listing.

Nancy Carr, event organizer and event director for Swim Across America – Fairfield County, and co-organizer Roseann Sarica Benedict, a real estate agent and lifelong Greenwich resident, have run the Sip & Shop together for 11 years. Carr, also a personal stylist, selects the vendor lineup each year, Greenwich Free Press reported.

The Sip & Shop has supported Swim Across America – Fairfield County since its first shopping event in 2016, according to Greenwich Free Press. The Fairfield County chapter launched its open water swim in 2007. How much the chapter has donated to ACGT depends on the source: the chapter's own website puts the total at more than $6 million, while Greenwich Free Press reported the figure at more than $7.5 million.

This year's vendor roster includes local and independent sellers. Among them: Pinky of Greenwich, Litchfield Distillery, Sweet Daydreams Bake Shop, Harper Lawrence, KVO Collections and dozens more.

Shoppers can also bring unwanted gold and sterling silver jewelry, watches or flatware to sell on-site.
