Greenwich seniors looking for help from the Commission on Aging or Wallace Center will find the administrative offices closed through Friday, Oct. 30.

The three-day shutdown, which began Wednesday, Oct. 28, covers the move of administrative staff from the Wallace Center to Greenwich Town Hall, according to a town announcement. No administrative business will be conducted at the Wallace Center during that period.

The offices reopen Monday, Nov. 2, in a new spot: the former Parks and Recreation Beach Pass Office, to the left as visitors enter the Town Hall main lobby. Wallace Center support staff and the program specialist will be based there.

One event is still on. The Wallace Center's Halloween party takes place Thursday, Oct. 29, at the Wallace Center as planned, though administrative services will not be available that day.

The town announcement, also covered by Patch, encourages residents to call staff directly during the transition. Staff may be less visible at Town Hall than residents are used to, the announcement said.

Three phone lines remain active:

  • Deana at 203-862-6700 for program questions and registration help
  • Amanda at 203-862-6721 for programs, registration and general assistance
  • Monica at 203-862-6710 for Share-the-Fare, Medicare Counseling and community resources

Residents can also visit myactivecenter.com to browse programs, register for activities and manage participation online.

A November office-hours schedule will be announced after staff unpack and settle into the new location.
