Real estate and tech firms drove most of Greenwich's 86 new business registrations in October, according to Connecticut Business Registry data first reported by Patch.

Twenty-three of the filings came from companies that rent, manage, sell or hold property. Thirteen listed software, data or internet services as their business type.

The registrations fanned out beyond central Greenwich, with 11 new businesses giving Old Greenwich addresses, 10 listing Riverside and six in Cos Cob. Business types on the filings are chosen by the registrants and were not independently verified.

Colorful newcomers

Among the more distinctive filings: Glam Bounce Balloon Studio LLC, registered Oct. 19 at 124 Halstead Ave. with Andrea Olivares as the registered agent, according to corporate filings compiled by OpenCorpData. N823NK LLC listed its line of work as scheduled passenger air transportation and gave an East Putnam Avenue address. Two beauty salons, BH Aesthetic Ventures LLC and KMR Beauty & Education LLC, also joined the October roster.

Three related companies under the name FI Greenwich CT share the same Game Cock Road address.

Statewide, registrations are climbing

Greenwich's October batch fits a broader trend across the state. New business registrations in Connecticut from January through September 2026 were up about 9 percent compared with the same stretch in 2025, according to the Secretary of State's office, as the CT Post reported.

David Cadden, a professor emeritus at Quinnipiac University, told the CT Post the numbers reflect people trying "to stay ahead of the curve."

"People are looking for gig economy opportunities, especially in light of AI," Brian Marks, a senior lecturer at the University of New Haven's Pompea College of Business, told the CT Post.

Patch's full table of all 86 October registrations, including business names and addresses, is available on its site.
