Greenwich Historical Society is adding guided tours of the Bush-Holley House to its Fall Harvest Festival on Saturday, Oct. 10. The tours spotlight the David Bush family's experiences during the American Revolution.

The festival runs from noon to 3 p.m. at the society's Cos Cob campus, 47 Strickland Road. The Revolutionary War tours are a new addition to the festival and are included with admission, Greenwich Free Press reported.

The Bush-Holley House is a National Historic Landmark. The standard guided tours cover the Bush family's history on the property, including the people enslaved by the family, who are named along with their emancipation dates, according to a Passport by Design review published in May. Whether the festival tours follow the same format has not been confirmed.

The festival's signature Scarecrow Building Competition also returns, with five categories: Best Overall, Most Fashionable, Most Traditional, Most Creative and Judge's Choice. Scarecrow materials come with each frame purchase, and participants can bring their own clothing and accessories.

For the Most Fashionable category, entrants are encouraged to draw inspiration from the Historical Society's current exhibition, "Fashioning America: 250 Years of Greenwich Style." Kathy Craughwell-Varda, the society's Director of Preservation & Collections and Senior Curator, said in a press release, "We are so excited to see the scarecrows take inspiration from the stylish ladies and fashions in the exhibition."

Local businesses donated prizes for the competition, including Clay Art Center, Wildacre Rotisserie, Il Pastaficio, Athena Books, Roost Coffee and Kitchen and Little Pub.

Beyond the scarecrows and tours, the festival features live bluegrass and swing music by Too Blue, cups of cider, a mashed potato bar and family-friendly seasonal crafts.

Tickets and scarecrow registration are available at the society's event page.
