Fire up your appetite — an evening of smoky barbecue, country dancing and backyard fun is returning to Greenwich later this month.
Christ Church Greenwich will host its annual Grill & Chill barbecue on Thursday, July 23, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on the church grounds behind the Tomes-Higgins House at 216 E. Putnam Ave. The outdoor event is open to the public.
Guests can enjoy a barbecue dinner, line dancing and lawn games throughout the evening.
Adult tickets are $60, while tickets for children ages 4 to 10 cost $20. Admission is free for children 3 and younger. Tickets are available through the church's website.
Slow-smoked barbecue on the menu
Danbury-based Farmboy's Smokin' BBQ will bring its signature smoker to Greenwich, serving slow-smoked meats cooked for up to 20 hours over hickory wood with house-made rubs and spices. The menu also features homemade sides, fresh salads and desserts.
Hit the dance floor
After dinner, Adam Cherko of Cherko Country Line Dancing will lead a line dancing session for all experience levels. Professional instructors will guide beginners and seasoned dancers alike through the steps.
Lawn games will also be available for children and adults throughout the evening.
A summer tradition returns
Grill & Chill has become a seasonal tradition at Christ Church Greenwich, with previous events held at the Tomes-Higgins House, including in 2023. This year's adult ticket price is $60, up from $50 at the 2023 event.
