Billy Joel and Elton John hits will light up Binney Park on Sunday, July 26, as Greenwich’s free summer concert season rolls on.

The Sound Beach Community Band will perform “The Music of Billy Joel & Elton John” at 7 p.m. at the Old Greenwich park, part of the Town of Greenwich Summer Concert Series. Admission is free, and concertgoers are asked to bring their own chair.

The rain date is Thursday, July 30. For weather cancellations, call 203-861-6100 after 4 p.m. on the day of the show. The full 2026 lineup is posted on the town’s Parks & Recreation website.

Friends of Binney Park, which stewards the green space, also has volunteer mornings on the third Wednesday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon at Helen Binney Kitchel Natural Park. The next sessions are Wednesday, July 15 and Wednesday, August 19.

Volunteers help weed and clean up the native pollinator garden, planted with hundreds of native species to support bees, butterflies and birds. They also care for a holly grove planted in spring 2025 with Greenwich Eco-Alliance, a group of Greenwich High School students.

Participants should bring labeled garden tools, gloves and bug spray.
