Greenwich families looking for weekend plans have no shortage of options, starting with a half-hour under a maple tree in Cos Cob.
The Cos Cob Library's Summer Garden Storytime meets Friday, July 10, at 10 a.m. on the library's front lawn. The free, 30-minute session features stories, songs, movement, and puppets for children of all ages and their caregivers, according to the library's event listing. The series runs every Friday through August 14, the final session of the summer. (The only skip was Friday, July 3.)
Families should bring sunscreen, hats, and blankets to sit on. If weather is a concern, staff decide by 9 a.m. whether to move the program indoors; the library advises calling ahead on uncertain mornings.
Indoor sessions require a storytime ticket, available at the front desk, because room capacity is limited. Latecomers are not admitted once the program begins.
Families can sign up for the Cos Cob Library's children's email newsletter for early access to all children's events.
Greenwich Avenue Sidewalk Sales
The Greenwich Chamber of Commerce's annual Sidewalk Sales continue on Greenwich Avenue through Sunday, July 12. Friday and Saturday hours begin at 9:30 a.m.; Sunday opens at 10 a.m. The four-day event, which started Thursday, July 9, features deals from Greenwich-licensed businesses along the downtown sidewalks.
