Bex Cranston climbed the podium twice Saturday at Lime Rock Park — the same track where he once sat on Spectator Hill as a 5-year-old, dreaming about the cockpit. This time, about 20 family members were there to watch it happen in person.

The 17-year-old Greenwich racer, driving the No. 90 car for Exclusive Autosport, finished second in both USF Junior Series races over the weekend. In Race 1, he crossed the line just 0.6592 seconds behind winner Edward Kennedy. In Race 2, he started fifth, fought his way up the field, and finished second again — this time 0.6231 seconds off the lead.

"I remember sitting on Spectator Hill when I was 5-6 years old dreaming about being in a race car," Cranston told Greenwich Time. "To get my second career podium here feels incredible."

It marked his second and third career podium finishes — both coming at the exact track where his racing dreams started. His first professional race was also at Lime Rock, about a year ago in a Spec Miata, a race he won outright.

The USF Junior races ran alongside the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series weekend at Lime Rock, which drew roughly 20,000 fans in its 2025 debut and returned for a second year. USF Juniors sits on the first rung of the Road to IndyCar development ladder — exactly where Cranston hopes it leads. He said Saturday's double podium validates that goal, though he's not putting all his eggs in one basket: if IndyCar doesn't happen, he says he'll still build a career in professional racing somewhere.

Cranston sits third in the 2026 USF Juniors standings with 197 points, trailing leader Karol Pasiewicz (284) and Max Mokarem (204). His next race is a three-round weekend at Road America, Sept. 24-26.
