Two of Greenwich's biggest projects in the pipeline — a 134-unit residential development and a new STEM building at Sacred Heart Greenwich — go before the town's Architectural Review Committee on Wednesday.

Renamba Greenwich LLC's Ambassador Greenwich project would bring a 3½-story managed residential community to 0 Old Track Road, with underground parking, walkways, gardens and new landscaping. The application dates back to 2022, and the committee last reviewed it in March.

The school wants to tear down existing faculty housing at 1177 King Street and replace it with a three-story STEM building linked to the main academic building by a glass-enclosed bridge. Planning consultant Michele Cronin told the Planning and Zoning Commission in June the design would "complement the Georgian architecture of the existing academic buildings while incorporating contemporary architectural elements." P&Z Chair Margarita Alban raised no objections at a preliminary review, calling it a good fit for the school's footprint, though she asked for a fuller landscaping plan before final approval. Once built, the old science wing would become space for visual arts, music and general classrooms. A final P&Z vote is expected in late July.

Three smaller projects round out the agenda

  • A sign review for Brooks Pilates at 21 Glenville Street
  • An ADA ramp at Merry-Go-Round Inc. on Arch Street
  • Window, roof and mechanical replacements at Christ Episcopal Church on East Putnam Avenue

The meeting is virtual via Zoom; a start time and link hadn't been posted as of publication. Details are available at greenwichct.gov.
