Greenwich High's girls swimming and diving team captured its second straight FCIAC championship on Saturday, Oct. 31, scoring 458 points to edge Ridgefield's 439.5 at the conference finals held at Greenwich High School.

The victory gave the Cardinals their 33rd FCIAC title. Twelve teams competed.

Sophomore Alden Charette led the way. She won the FCIAC diving championship at Westhill High School on Oct. 29 with 568.90 points across 11 dives on the one-meter board, breaking a Greenwich High School record, according to Greenwich Sports Beat. She was named the meet's Most Outstanding Athlete.

Charette did double duty. She also swam the backstroke leg on Greenwich's winning 200-yard medley relay team and placed fifth in the 100-yard backstroke.

The Cardinals won five events across the meet, according to Greenwich Sports Beat. Senior captain Kensie Worden took the 50-yard freestyle in 23.70 seconds. Senior captain Ellison Charette, Alden's older sister, won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:00.90. Greenwich's 200-yard medley relay team of Alden Charette, junior Sara Jee, senior captain Julia Kozma and Worden opened the finals with a winning time of 1:46.23, per FCIAC results.

Ridgefield had beaten Greenwich 110-76 in a regular-season dual meet, Greenwich Sports Beat reported. First-year head coach Megan Kelly said the team entered the conference meet trailing Ridgefield by roughly 25 to 30 points on paper before diving scores were factored in, according to Greenwich Sports Beat. Kelly said qualifying as many swimmers as possible into the top eight and top 16 was the key.

The divers delivered. Clemmie Whittle finished eighth (316.35 points) and Alina Khilko placed 13th (294.20) to add to the Cardinals' total alongside Alden Charette's championship score.

Depth across the pool mattered, too. Ellison Charette placed second in the 200-yard individual medley (2:08.64). Worden took second in the 100 freestyle (52.40). Jee earned the silver in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.93). Kozma placed third in the 100 butterfly (57.65). Junior Anna Whitridge and freshman Vivian Jacoby added scoring finishes in the 100 freestyle, placing fifth and eighth.

Darien (254), New Canaan (228.5) and Wilton (212) rounded out the top five in team standings.

Greenwich won the FCIAC, CIAC Class LL and State Open championships in 2025. The Cardinals now turn toward the CIAC Class LL diving finals on Nov. 11 at Plainville and the Class LL swimming finals on Nov. 17 at Cornerstone Aquatics Center in West Hartford, according to Greenwich Sports Beat. The State Open is scheduled for Nov. 22 at Yale.
