The dynasty isn't slowing down.

Greenwich High School's boys tennis team captured its fourth consecutive CIAC Class LL championship with a commanding 4-0 victory over Fairfield Prep on June 3, capping a 21-1 season and adding another chapter to one of Connecticut's most successful high school programs.

Playing at New Canaan High School, the top-seeded Cardinals clinched the title before all seven matches were complete.

Junior Zach Schwartz sealed the championship at No. 4 singles with a 6-2, 6-3 victory.

"It feels great," Schwartz said. "It's an unreal feeling and I'm definitely going to remember this the rest of my life."

Cardinals dominate again

Greenwich controlled the doubles courts from start to finish.

Jake Orbanowski and Ryan Stanton won in straight sets at No. 1 doubles, while Will Neuenfeldt and Milo Russo cruised 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2. Teddy Aaron and Nikita Shterk, paired together for the first time this season, added another point with a 6-2, 6-4 victory at No. 3 doubles.

Senior captain Elias Orrell led the Cardinals at No. 1 singles throughout the season, with junior captain Owen Kwon at No. 2 and sophomore Francesco Lindia at No. 3. Kwon was in a first-set tiebreak when Schwartz clinched the championship.

The title came in first-year head coach Mike Racanelli's debut season after he emphasized longer practices and a tougher mindset.

The approach paid off.

Over the past four seasons, Greenwich has compiled an 87-1 record while winning four consecutive state championships. Its only loss during that span came to Class L champion New Canaan in the 2026 regular season.

The victory also marked the Cardinals' 17th state championship in boys tennis and their second straight state finals win over Fairfield Prep.

With senior captain Orrell graduating, much of the championship core returns next season, including Kwon, Schwartz, Lindia, Orbanowski, Neuenfeldt, Aaron and Stanton, giving Greenwich another opportunity to extend its remarkable run in 2027.
