Greenwich accounts for six of Connecticut's seven entries on the 2026 Forbes 400, released Tuesday, Sept. 15.
Steve Cohen, who oversees Point72 Asset Management and its $58 billion in assets, leads the Greenwich contingent at No. 43 with $26.7 billion. That makes Cohen the richest person in Connecticut, according to Patch. Cohen previously ran SAC Capital and bought the New York Mets in 2020 for $2.4 billion.
Ray Dalio, who founded Bridgewater Associates in 1975, ranks No. 62 at $18.9 billion. Bridgewater manages $92 billion, according to Forbes. Dalio sold his remaining stake in the firm by 2025 after stepping down as CEO in 2017 and retiring as co-chief investment officer in 2022.
Brad Jacobs, chairman and CEO of Greenwich-based QXO, ranks No. 98 at $13.3 billion. Much of his wealth comes from QXO, a publicly traded building-products company. Jacobs previously founded XPO Logistics and built United Rentals into a major equipment-rental company.
Clifford Asness, cofounder of Greenwich-based AQR Capital Management, ranks No. 215 at $8 billion. AQR, a quantitative investment firm he launched in 1998 after leaving Goldman Sachs, manages about $260 billion in investor assets.
Stephen Mandel Jr. ranks No. 302 at $5.7 billion. Mandel founded hedge fund Lone Pine Capital in 1997 and stepped back from managing investments in 2019 but remains a managing director.
Ratmir Timashev, a newcomer to the list, ranks No. 315 at $5.4 billion. Timashev cofounded software company Veeam in 2006 and sold it to Insight Partners for $5 billion in 2020.
The only other Connecticut entry is Karen Pritzker of Branford, ranked No. 211 at $8.1 billion, an heir to the Hyatt hotels fortune, according to Patch's statewide edition.
Across all 400 members, total wealth hit a record $8 trillion, up from $6.6 trillion in 2025. The entry threshold rose to $4.4 billion, up from $3.8 billion a year ago and $1.7 billion a decade ago. Forbes attributed much of the growth to gains tied to artificial intelligence, data centers and a strong stock market, according to MyCentralJersey.com.
Forbes used wealth estimates as of Sept. 4 to compile the 45th annual ranking.
