Retired NFL quarterback Russell Wilson has been making himself at home in Greenwich, stopping by a local pizza shop and a custom apparel business during the week of Aug. 25.

Wilson visited Glenville Pizza at 243 Glenville Road and Logos Greenwich at 12 Riversville Road, Patch reported. The Super Bowl XLVIII champion, who retired in June after 14 NFL seasons, picked up slices at Glenville Pizza and has become a repeat customer, according to owner Frankie Ferraro.

He even signed a pizza box.

"He's so humble and such a gentleman; he's respectful and nice," Ferraro told Patch. "It was a pleasure and a privilege to have him in my place."

At Logos Greenwich, a shop specializing in custom apparel, embroidery and screen printing, owner Gina Furano called Wilson "a great, great guy." Furano posted a photo with Wilson on the shop's Instagram page on Aug. 31, with a caption referencing 3BRAND Racing items. 3BRAND Racing is the horse racing stable Wilson co-owns with his wife, Ciara.

The Greenwich visits came the same week Wilson's racing venture scored its first win. Club Reign, a 2-year-old colt co-owned by Three Brand Racing LLC, Ribble Farms and Walmac Farm, won its debut race by six lengths on Aug. 29 at Saratoga Race Course on Travers Day, according to the Times Union. The colt, purchased for $475,000, earned "TDN Rising Star" recognition from Thoroughbred Daily News.

"Man, what an exciting day," Wilson said after the race at Saratoga. "We're so excited for Three Brand Racing and, obviously, Club Reign. What a blessing."

Wilson, 37, spent most of his career with the Seattle Seahawks before stints with the Denver Broncos, Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants. A 10-time Pro Bowl selection and the 2020 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year, he joined CBS as a broadcast analyst on "The NFL Today" pregame show after retiring.

Trainer Whit Beckman has identified the Grade 1 Champagne Stakes on Oct. 3 at Belmont Park as a possible next start for Club Reign. Based on Ferraro's account, Greenwich residents can expect to see Wilson around town between now and then.
