Greenwich-area writers will sign and sell their books at Perrot Memorial Library's 2026 Local Author Showcase on Saturday, Sept. 19, a free drop-in event open to the public from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to the library's event page.

The showcase takes place on "the Green," the central carpeted area of the Youth Services Department in the library's Radcliffe Building at 90 Sound Beach Ave. in Old Greenwich. Readers can browse titles spanning children's, young adult and adult genres without registering or paying admission.

Judith Sgammato, who coordinates adult programming at Perrot Library, is organizing the event. She can be reached at 203-637-1066, ext. 15, or [email protected].

For authors who want a table

The day starts earlier for participating writers. Authors arrive at 9 a.m. for a meet-and-greet with breakfast in the Program Room, where guest speaker Valerie Bolling will discuss the writing process and getting published.

Bolling, an award-winning children's author, spent 30 years in Greenwich Public Schools as a teacher and instructional coach before leaving in 2023 to write full time. Her 12 books include the SCBWI Crystal Kite Award winner Let's Dance! and Kirkus Prize finalist Together We Swim. On her author profile, she writes that she wants "all children to feel at home in a book."

Space is limited to 20 authors. The library is seeking a mix of adult, children's and young adult writers, with preference given to Greenwich authors. Interested writers can apply through an online form on the library's website. The application page has been live since March and was last updated July 30.
