Constantino's Pasta Bowls and Love You A Latte reopened Tuesday, Sept. 1, at 160 Hamilton Ave. in Greenwich. Original owners Robyn and Michael Bordes terminated the sale of both Chickahominy restaurants and stepped back in themselves.

The couple had sold the side-by-side eateries to Jihaad Alyusuf on July 1. Both then went dark for about two weeks in August after the Greenwich Health Department posted an orange notice on Constantino's front door on Aug. 19, Patch reported. The notice cited the business for operating without a required food service license.

Robyn Bordes said concern for the restaurants' employees drove the decision to unwind the deal.

"Many of the people who work with us have been part of what made Pasta Bowls and Love You A Latte what they are today, and we simply were not willing to risk losing the team we had worked so hard to build," she told Patch.

The Bordeses opened both restaurants in 2024. Robyn Bordes also runs a public relations firm, and Michael Bordes owns a construction company. The couple originally sold because they wanted more family time.

In an Aug. 27 Patch article about the closure, Robyn Bordes said, "Life passes too quickly … We love the Greenwich community …"

But the prolonged shutdown changed the calculus. Bordes said she spent the weekend before the Sept. 1 reopening gearing up to get both locations running again. Her existing town licenses remained valid when she resumed operations, she told Patch.

Alyusuf, who also owns Petite Bretagne in Rye and Mamaroneck, N.Y., could not be reached for comment as of Thursday, Sept. 3, according to Patch. The sale termination's specific terms have not been disclosed.

The Bordeses had also sold a separate business, Constantino's of Greenwich, in May. That restaurant, originally at 699 W. Putnam Ave. and later at 136 Hamilton Ave., closed after its sale to a different buyer.

Bordes said she is no longer interested in selling.
