The Old Greenwich Farmers Market has a new home for its 16th season, moving to the parking lot across from St. Catherine of Siena and St. Agnes Church, 4 Riverside Ave.

The market opened Wednesday, July 22, after its former location at Living Hope Community Church on West End Avenue became unavailable. Organizers said the new site offers about twice the parking capacity and can better accommodate the market's weekly crowds of roughly 200 to 400 visitors.

The market features 12 to 15 vendors each week, including Connecticut farms, local food businesses, craft vendors and community organizations.

The move required coordination with several town departments, including Planning and Zoning, Fire, Health and Building officials. A traffic officer will help manage vehicles and pedestrian flow at the new location after some residents raised concerns about congestion near the intersection.

The market runs every Wednesday from 1 to 5 p.m., rain or shine, through the season. Organizers ask visitors to avoid arriving before opening, leave pets at home, refrain from smoking and use only designated parking spaces.

The market will continue weekly at 4 Riverside Ave. in Old Greenwich.
