Older Greenwich residents will have a new place to gather starting in September after At Home in Greenwich partnered with the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich.

The nonprofit, which helps older adults age in place, said the club's teen space at 4 Horseneck Lane will serve as its first fully accessible facility in more than a decade. The arrangement runs as a trial from September through December.

At Home members can use the space most Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The clubhouse sits largely quiet during daytime hours, when youth programming is not running. Covered parking and elevator access make the building reachable for members who could not visit At Home's current offices on the second floor of Steeple Commons at Second Congregational Church, which has no elevator.

The trial is a big deal.

"We are so grateful to the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich for this opportunity," Ann McCarthy, executive director of At Home in Greenwich, said in a statement reported by Greenwich Free Press. McCarthy added that there is "something quite special about Greenwich's older adults and teens enjoying the same space."

Cristina Vittoria, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich, said the partnership grew from the club's recent renovation. The two-year project expanded the Rebecca S. Breed Clubhouse from 50,000 square feet to 63,000 square feet, according to the club's website. The renovated facility reopened with a ribbon-cutting on Sept. 30, 2025, adding a gymnasium, an amphitheater, a café and a dedicated teen center.

Vittoria said the renovation aimed to strengthen the club's connection to the broader community. She said the club is glad to provide a welcoming, accessible place for At Home's members.

The teen space features a central room with sofas, chairs and a pool table, plus three breakout rooms. At Home has already scheduled a short story reading group and other programming, along with informal drop-in time for coffee and socializing.

Whether the partnership will continue past December has not been announced.
