Judy Sheindlin, the 83-year-old television judge who lives on a Greenwich estate, will open her private life to cameras in a 90-minute CBS special airing Tuesday, Sept. 22.

"Judge Judy: Unfiltered, Unforgettable" marks the 30th anniversary of the courtroom series that debuted in 1996 and became the most successful syndicated courtroom show in television history, according to CBS. The special airs at 8 p.m. Eastern on CBS and streams live on Paramount+ Premium, according to The Desk. On-demand streaming for all Paramount+ subscribers begins Sept. 23.

The program traces Sheindlin's path from Brooklyn to New York City Family Court and into the television career that made her a household name. Viewers will see home movies and personal archives not previously shown publicly, CBS said.

Celebrity guests include Amy Poehler, RuPaul, Samuel L. Jackson, Sherry Lansing and Steven Spielberg. Sheindlin's son, Judge Adam Levy, who hosts the courtroom program "Adam's Law," also appears alongside family members, former colleagues and past litigants.

Actor Samuel L. Jackson recalled running into Sheindlin overseas: "Judy was in London, and we met and had tea together in this lobby, and people were walking by, 'My God, Judge Judy, and that guy, that actor guy.' But they knew her way better than they knew me," Jackson said, according to Daily Voice.

"Judge Judy" ran 25 seasons before ending in 2021. Sheindlin continues to preside over cases on "Judy Justice," her Daytime Emmy-winning series on Prime Video, which premiered its fourth season in January.

Sheindlin has five children, 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The special is produced by See It Now Studios, with executive producers John R. Green, Susan Zirinsky and Terence Wrong.
