A Greenwich man was rescued by New York State Department of Environmental Conservation forest rangers after becoming stranded on an ATV in the Adirondacks earlier this month, as first reported by The Post Star on Friday, July 18.

The rider's name, the exact date of the incident, the specific location within the Adirondacks, and the circumstances of the stranding have not been released. It is unclear whether the man was injured. The DEC press office has not provided additional details.

The rescue was one of two backcountry operations DEC rangers conducted in the Adirondacks in early July. The other involved an injured hiker on Mount Marcy who required a helicopter airlift.
