Sixty young singers from Greenwich and surrounding communities star in a professionally produced music video that's already drawn more than 27,000 YouTube views — a milestone for a local nonprofit that began just five years ago with eight kids in a room.

Greenwich A Cappella, the youth vocal program founded in 2020 by Lauren Regan, released its cover of "Rewrite the Stars" from The Greatest Showman on July 23, featuring students in grades K-12 from all five of the program's groups. The team behind it reads like a professional film credit list: vocal producer Ben Bram, a two-time Grammy and Emmy winner who co-created Pentatonix, arranged the track; choreographer Ilia Jessica Castro, who choreographed The Greatest Showman itself, staged the movement; and director Nayip Ramos, with Disney and Marvel credits to his name, shot and edited the piece.

The crew filmed at Reid Castle on the campus of Manhattanville University, after the production team scouted more than 60 locations before settling on the site's architecture and grounds. The connection came through Kelly Beyrer, a program parent and Manhattanville's Director of Marketing and Communications.

"Reid Castle provided such a beautiful, cinematic backdrop, and it added a sense of scale and magic that made this experience incredibly special for our students," Regan said.

Regan and Shams Ahmed served as executive producers, with audio production handled by Nicky Brenner, Ed Boyer and Gabi Grella. The program has grown from its original eight singers to more than 130 vocalists ages 5 to 18, with members who've opened for the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall and performed at the National A Cappella Convention in Orlando. The group typically produces smaller videos each year, but scaled up significantly for this fifth-anniversary project.
