Greenwich High's girls volleyball team beat Fairfield Warde 3-0 on Friday, Sept. 18, winning 25-20, 25-21, 25-17 in a rematch of last season's CIAC Class LL semifinal.

The defending FCIAC and state champions have now won all five matches this fall without dropping a set. MaxPreps lists the Cardinals at 5-0 overall and 4-0 in league play, first in Fairfield County, with 15 sets won and zero lost.

Three senior captains powered the win over Warde. Heidi Zieme led with 11 kills, 20 digs, four service points and two blocks. Setter Victoria Sullivan recorded 22 assists, eight digs, three kills and two blocks. Kayah Armstrong added nine kills and nine service points.

Junior libero Bailee Dayon contributed 16 digs, three assists and seven service points. Beatriz Lisboa da Cunha de Freitas finished with 10 digs, 11 assists and four service points.

Head coach Marianna Linnehan's squad carries a roster of seven seniors, five juniors and two freshmen into a busy stretch. Greenwich travels to Norwalk on Monday, Sept. 28, then hosts Darien on Wednesday, Sept. 30. Road matches at Greens Farms Academy on Thursday, Oct. 1, and King on Friday, Oct. 2, round out the week.
