Greenwich High School's varsity cheerleaders invite young fans to a $50 Gameday Experience and Breakfast on Saturday, Sept. 26, ahead of the Youth Day football game at Cardinal Stadium.
The event runs from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Participants gather at the GHS Gym for a PopUp Bagels breakfast, learn cheers and receive bows and poms from the varsity squad before walking together to Cardinal Stadium for the 1 p.m. FCIAC game against Fairfield Warde, according to Greenwich Free Press. Tickets are available through SignUpGenius.
The event is open to youth across Greenwich, including those who have never cheered.
Cheerleaders from all five Greenwich Youth Cheerleading League (GYCL) teams are invited to join the GHS squad at halftime for free. That annual tradition brings together the Banc Raiders, Cos Cob Crushers, Glenville Mavericks, North Mianus Bulldogs and Putnam Generals, along with GYCL's Greenwich United Competition Team. The halftime appearance is separate from the $50 breakfast event.
GYCL, founded in 2004, serves more than 300 athletes in third through eighth grade across Greenwich.
The varsity squad hosting the event swept the 2025 FCIAC, Connecticut state and New England Regional championships. State Rep. Tina Courpas honored the team at Greenwich High School in April 2025, calling the triple crown the first by a Connecticut team at that level.
Greenwich's football team enters the game after opening its 2026 season with a 42-0 win over Bridgeport Central on Sept. 10, according to the Greenwich Sentinel. Quarterback Phil Tarantino completed 7 of 9 passes for 125 yards and three touchdowns in the opener.
